autoBiography:

My name is Tay Doluisio (TayTheTomboy)and I am an experimental Filmmaker, Photographer and Performance Artist, with a niche interest and focus in creating content and documenting alternative lifestyles, queer media and various countercultures & subcultures. I am currently based in Denton, TX and the surrounding DFW areas!

I was born and raised in the suburbs of Austin, TX, surrounded consistently by vibrant culture and art- never realizing that pursuing “the arts” was my dream and my passion in life.

I decided in 2019 to pursue a Criminal Justice degree, but was exposed to the world of filmmaking about 75% of the way through my schooling. Quite quickly, I discovered that I wanted to shift into a more creative and expressive career, and that it wasn’t the correct fit for my trajectory.

After the completion of my Criminal Justice degree and a rough year of rotating through different jobs and trying to find my rhythm; I decided to go back to school to pursue a second bachelor’s degree in Media Arts, where I am now thriving and living my life to the fullest extent!

I recently have been exploring more with gender identity within the last few months. I truly love to express myself in an androgynous and masculine way and love to express that sentiment in my filmmaking. I have always felt like a tomboy, but I have suppressed these thoughts and feelings since I was very young.

In the recent years, I have proudly reclaimed the “tomboy” label as my own and take pride in the fact that I am atypical.
